Summer Event Outfit Style
The Summer Party Season is finally upon us so it’s time to start thinking about getting dressed-up and leaving your jeans and converse at home, emerging from your Winter cocoon as the glamazon you really are! Dressing-up makes you feel great and knowing you have got your outfit spot-on is one of the things we all like to master and have fun doing. I’ve suggested different cuts for different body shapes to narrow down the choice.
This season, the piece that I keep on coming back to for my shopping clients is the white blazer, it really does finish off any outfit beautifully and could be worn again with jeans and heels, well worth the investment. So without further a-do, here are some suggestions you for your Summer Event Outfit this party season:
This silver and black dress from trendy nordic label Baum Und Pferdgarten is a very cool option. The dress is fitted on the top and then flares over curves at the bottom – it would work well on a pear-shape or an hourglass figure. Wear it either with these LK Bennet black suede sandals or some white sandals and a silver clutch, finish with the Baum Und Pfergarten white fitted jacket. This dress is available at Anthology Boutique in Wandsworth.
Whilst it is always classy and straightforward to wear matching tones, I suggest adding a splash of bright colour to this outfit and opting for a red or bright pink hat and lipstick and nails to match.
If you are Apple Shaped then your tummy will dictate the clothes you wear. Draped styles work well, and ruching on the side of your dress that falls flatteringly over your tum. Another trick is to go for a loud pattern because it tricks the eye and puts the focus on the pattern rather than your tummy.
All Saints do lots and lots of draped dress styles in beautiful silks. I love this silver dress which can be seriously dressed-up with statement accessories, shoes and hat for Ascot then worn to many a party in the future.
Continuing on with the Ascot outfit theme, Sophia Webster has created THE most perfect shoe for Summer that would stand out beautifully – especially with the above dress :). Her ‘Jessica Watermelon Court shoes available at Selfridges are brilliant fun. Finish off with a watermelon pink suede clutch from Karen Millen, white blazer by Ted Baker and of course topped with a fabulous hat like this one by Rachel Trevor-Morgan. Have a look at Rachel’s website for lots more amazing style and colour choices.
For the more traditional amongst us, I would opt for a Paule Ka dress. The French designer does very classic tailored dresses that work for lots of occasions. This shape would work for Apple, Pear and Hour Glass and would also go with the black LK Bennett Shoes above:
Summer Garden Party Outfits
A very stylish and comfortable option is a jumpsuit! This one by DVF is very Summary and would look gorgeous with killer black heels. The flared trousers would balance out proportions and be very flattering on the figure.
Another more feminine option is this polka dot georgette dress by Saloni at Matches Fashion is elegant and effortless and would work on most body shapes with high sandals and a raffia clutch.
Wimbledon requires a smart day dress that suits your Personal Style. If you are aClassic smart girl opt for the Sportmax Linfa Dress from Matches Fashion but if you prefer to hang a bit looser, a tea dress or shirt dress like this one from House of Fraser would work really well.
This season Jaegar have some absolutely brilliant dresses in all sorts of flattering cuts that include draping and cowl necks covering up a multitude of lumps and bumps. Pair the gold cowl neck dress with grey soft suede sandals from LK Bennett and the uneven stripe antique white dress with the black LK Bennett Sandals above and the silver clutch. Both of these dresses are available at John Lewis and would work really nicely with the grey velvet bow hat above.
Hope you like these outfit ideas and find something for your body shape and style personality to make the look your own.
