Metallics, Sequins the Moon and the Stars
You can’t move in the shops at the moment for sparkle, normally that’s just around Christmas but this year it’s an Autumn trend – brill! Metallics, sequins, moon and star themed clothing are everywhere – it’s like being on the set of Strictly ALL THE TIME.
Sparkle makes me happy, and when I’m not rushing around like a mad woman ferrying my boys to and from school and various after school clubs, I am a Personal Shopper and funnily enough spend a lot of time in the shops looking for outfits that are practical mostly but fun too. When I’m not in the shops pulling together wardrobes for my client’s I’m researching for my blog, trying things on because clearly I (and most people I know) are not models and it ‘aint as simple as popping to the shops and instantly discovering an awesome outfit.
Whether you are 25 or 55, size 6 or 20 there is some kind of sparkle that will work for you. The skies have gone grey and a chill is in the air a bit of strictly style shimmer is a good tonic!
All the Stars are Out Tonight
Kicking off with Charlotte Olympia’s most incredible ‘Galactica’ boots at Net-a-Porter. These are waaayyy out of my price range at £835 but I will be on the look out for a High Street version. Wear these with cropped trousers or jeans or a midi length dress.
Other Stories have done a galactic theme this season and have brilliant galaxy themed maxi dresses, scarves and tops. New-in this week is this truly gorgeous and very expensive looking shooting star blouse:
&Other Stories is easily my favourite shop on the High Street right now. This silver moon top has a lovely neck tie hanging down at the back and would be great with black cropped trousers and heels:
This pleated gold midi skirt also has lovely lace detailing which makes it a good choice for an evening out with ankle boots or heels for a cool look:
ASOS have a good plus size range of stylish clothes with this silver pleated number from size 18 upwards:
If you are petite and suit a shorter length or just have great pins then try Other Stories who have a silver leather mini (WOW), a star print navy A-line skirt and this pretty jewel skirt:
Skirts and dresses not your thing? Sparkly cullottes or sequin trousers are the way to go with killer heels for evening or trainers in the daytime. Sparkly trousers can be found everywhere from Matches Fashion to Zara.
Finally, &Other Stories have excellent dresses right now, too many to mention but go from velvet short shifts to long length satin slips and lots of flattering A-line shapes. I have found my perfect party dress in Other Stories! I am an hourglass shape so have curvy hips and suit A-line shapes. I like getting my legs out and this dress is fairly short PLUS it has swirls of sequins in a flattering line across the chest and arms with a chiffon top. I love it and of course I bought it for the upcoming Christmas and New Year parties, the perils of my job.
Here’s a pic of me in the dress on Instagram doing my research for this blog shortly before I bought the it! :). Follow me on Instagram for almost daily outfits as I navigate my life as a stylist and Mum of two boys.
