All those who know me or read this blog, know I love a good ‘high-low’ outfit combination. A pretty tea dress with a leather biker, a satin slip dress worn with biker boots, a band t-shirt tucked into a sequin skirt, blah, blah, blah. You see, if I wore a pretty tea dress with kitten heels I’d feel like Kate Middleton at the tennis, she’s lovely and all that but that isn’t the look I’m after. Pair the slip dress with biker boots or a leather and I’m much happier. Furthermore, if I paired a satin slip dress with spindly heels, I’d be Miss Hannigan in Annie (there are more similarities with Miss Hannigan but I’ll stop there) but pair that slip dress with converse or trainers and I’m at peace with the world. You get the picture, toughening-up outfits so I feel like myself, but also just because high-low mixing of textures and styles of clothes works really really well!
I was inspired this week by the Song of Style blog and the cami with a long cardigan over the top you’ll see below. Here are a few of the other high-low outfit combo’s from Pinterest and Instagram that have also inspired me this week and read on for pieces in the shops now so you can re-create these looks.
