Looking for outfit inspiration but have zero time to think about it?

If you want an easy answer of what to wear this Christmas then look no further. The sequin skirt will have you looking festive in seconds and the brilliant thing is they look great with a cosy knit so you can be warm AND stylish all at the same time.

Let’s face it, Christmas is a bit of a nightmare to say the least and headspace is at an all time low but there is pressure to look ‘party'.’

It’s not my job to pile on the pressure, it’s my job to suggest effortless ways to get a great wardrobe, to give outfit inspiration and provide links so you can just sit there with a wine or a cup of tea and just press ‘buy.’ Job done, outfit accomplished, one more job off the ‘to-do’ list.

Which skirt for my body shape?

Skirts are quite tricky to get right so I thought it would be useful to share styling tips first for each body shape.

Choose pencil shape if you are; Column (straight), hourglass ⌛️ or apple.

Choose a more a-line/flowing style if you are; Pear shape, inverted triangle.

Some people can wear both though. Inverted triangle (broad shoulders) could also do a pencil skirt and hourglass could do a-line/flared too.

I think it’s important to feel good around this time of year when there is so much pressure, we deserve it. This is where dressing for joy really comes in - at this time of year. It’s good to be ‘extra’, it’s a time to take risks. Bring on the sequins and let’s have a very Merry Christmas.

I think this is a very chic way to wear a sequin skirt. With smart suede ankle boots and a blazer. I’d go for a tuxedo style blazer for more festive vibes.

Here are my favourite sequin skirts in the shops now.

Rixo Harlequin Sequin Skirt

Loving this hot pink sequin number with a black leather jacket. This is plus sizes.

Black sequins are cool and chic. Still glam but more classic and understated. Wear with a silk blouse and heels

There you have my run down of favourite sequin skirts in the shops now. Wear them either with a soft cashmere knit and ankle boots for an effortless look or smarted with a silk blouse and a blazer. Happy Christmas. x
