Focussed Work Wardrobe Updates
Christmas is SO 2017, totally o-v-a-h! and so we look to the New Year with thoughts of getting things done this year. Stuff that's been put off, or we just didn't get around to and often that includes getting a promotion or a new job. Updating your work wardrobe with a few focussed updates can really make a difference to how you feel and give you a real boost.
There are lots of sales on at the moment so the shops look a bit like a jumble sale but from this week on some great new pieces are creeping in including some really good workwear at M&S. Prince Harry's fiance Megan Markle chose to wear a black balloon sleeve top from M&S this week when she visited a grime radio station in London! She kept the whole outfit chic in head to toe black, always a safe option. M&S say this top has now sold out online but they have stock in-stores and are replenishing as we speak.

It's hard to know where exactly to spend your money on your wardrobe and planning the right pieces to buy is time consuming. Weight watchers did a survey last week that revealed most of us have wardrobes stuffed full of unworn clothes because most purchases we make are random and made on-the-hop. These pieces I've found to kick-off your work wardrobe for 2018 will give you a quick update and can be mixed and matched together to give a few easy outfit options. I've chosen strong simple separates that have interesting detail's and are up-to-date but are largely plain so will stand the test of time. The bell sleeve top or the black puff sleeve blouse from Massimo Dutti go with the leather trousers. The crocheted white top would also look great with the leather trousers because the mix of hard leather with soft silk in a feminine style is a great combo. The soft yellow cashmere jumper (I've just ordered this) brings a bit of colour to a largely monochrome selection and will work with both pairs of trousers below. Black court shoes have made a huge come back and are a good investment for the new season (seeing these everywhere) - choose suede for a softer look that can then also be worn with the leather trousers.
Joseph Leather Trousers on sale
These relaxed cut, Joseph leather trousers are a bit of an investment to say the least but have been reduced from £945 - £475 and would last years - here's a highstreet version from &Other Stories or you can go faux with these by H&M although these are a skinny cut.
These pin stripe trousers from M&S are also great and only £35! These would also look good with a leather jacket and trainers or dressed up for work with heels, a silk tee shirt and the double breasted long line blazer below from Whistles. If you want to look 'on-trend' then a long line double breasted blazer is a good choice at the moment, also checked blazers are still huge this season and good with plain trousers.
