Fabulous February Outfits
We made it through January and today is finally the 1st of Feb! Now I really feel like 2024 is in full swing and I can start to get excited about the year ahead and SPRING.
To celebrate I have pulled together a little February edit to refresh your style for this new year. ✨
Let’s tend to the trends
First off, I wanted to mention a few trends that will be popping up this year. to be clear, I am no fashionista - not because I’m OLD, I’m not that old anyway but if you listen to magazines I might as well be dead at my age. I’m not a fashionista because I don’t like looking like everyone else. Much better to find your own style vibe and build on that.
I talk a lot about this on my podcast - The Style Stories Podcast.
So even though I may not slavishly follow trends, I still like to look up-to-date and modern. ‘With it’ for want of a better phrase although that in itself makes me sound old…
I don’t want to look dated but I want to look like myself. That means always relaxed and comfortable with a bit of tailoring and edge thrown in. I find as I get older I want to wear more tailoring as it’s become more important to me to look pulled together and elegant. As someone who is a natural scruff, this is taking a bit of attention but my wardrobe always feels more balanced and pulled together when I mix in tailoring.
So some trends of note this year are tailored Bermuda shorts which I am loving! Striped shirts, Mary Jane’s (still), Wide jeans, baggy jeans, tailored wide trousers, coloured trainers - especially red, and lots of big blazers.
Here’s my pick of the bunch:
I hope you enjoyed my first blog of 2024. It’s always exciting at the start of a new year to reassess your style and do a bit of an upgrade.
