Spring Outfit Ideas
Outfits I am loving for Spring. Lots of smart/casual outfit ideas to kick off the new season in style.
Rather than following trends it is always better to spend a bit of time reflecting on what you truly love to wear and wear that! It feel so good to have some self belief in the things that really light you up so you can happily watch the trends come and go whilst wearing outfits that make you feel great.
The brilliant thing about fashion is that it is ever evolving which means you can experiment. We as people evolve all the time so what you feel like wearing this Spring, might not be the same as what you were loving in Spring 2024. Rather than throwing everything out and starting again (I am definitely not suggesting you do that!) sometimes, you just need to start wearing things a bit differently to get your vibe.
Pair things in your wardrobe in a different way to how you have worn them before and you might find yourself enjoying things you have ignored for a while. I always like to use the mantra ‘opposites attract’ so wearing a really pretty skirt with something sporty or masculine - the contrast really works and makes an interesting outfit. Throw an oversized blazer over a pretty floral dress and wear with flats or trainers. Pair your trusty jeans with a really feminine sparkly blouse perhaps and then wear that with Birkenstocks - it makes the outfit a bit more wearable day-to-day.
Spring is a time of excitement for warmer days ahead and it is a really great time to do a bit of reflection on your wardrobe. Are there some things in your wardrobe that just don’t seem to align with you anymore that can now go? Maybe sell them on Vinted. Try to declutter and then take some time to reflect on how you want to FEEL in your outfits - are the clothes in your wardrobe helping you create outfits that feel good? Once you get an idea of WHY you like certain things, you can shop more efficiently and wear more of what’s in your wardrobe.
Take this look below from Baum & Pfertgarten, one of my all time favourite brands. I love how they have paired a sports top with a sequin pencil skirt and mules. It really appeals to me visually. I would love to wear this outfit because it fits my vibe ‘relaxed, feminine with edge’ - this has been my ‘go-to’ formula for many years now and it feels like ME.
One of my clients was recently working out her style vibe and sent me her Pinterest board. It featured images of Claudia Winkleman in Traitors wearing hunter wellies, heritage coats and cable knit jumpers. She had lots of flowers on the board too and faux fur, lace and different textures. Summarised into 3 words we came up with - casual (or relaxed works), Heritage, Botanical. These words epitomise how she likes to get dress and act as a North Star to pay attention to when putting outfits together. It really really works to get a handle on how you love to dress.
Some more ideas with a fancy skirt and a masculine or relaxed top - taking the fancy elements down a notch makes it daytime appropriate. This outfit also has masculine or preppy shoes, mixing up the look even further.

Striped shirt - H&M
This M&S embellished skirt is gorgeous! You can easily dress this up for evening or down with a shirt or a simple white tee and silver flats. Selling out fast!
I bought this exact shirt yesterday from Free People and love it. Will wear with my jeans but also my silk slip skirts for an easy day look. I like the fact it’s loose and doesn’t need tucking in - comes in LOTS of other colours but I went for neutral.
Also like this bow shirt from Free People. Would be great in or out of work with jeans or trousers.
Really like these high waisted balloon jeans from Zara
These high waist palazzo from Zara also great
Like these PETITE wide leg jeans by River Island
If you are petite, try these ‘Le Pixie’ by Frame or I also like these Reiss jeans - something different with the side panel.
Bringing in some brights for Spring! I am happy in a tee shirt - Sezane
If you prefer to look a bit smarter - a lace ‘tee’ like this is a great option with jeans. Sezane.
I always get a lot of use out of the lace blouses in my wardrobe. They work to make me feel more dressed up even in jeans. Sezane.
Loving these gingham trousers for a fresh spring look. Would work with a tee or a blouse. Add a smart cardigan if cold. The whole suit together is a bit loud for my personal taste but as separates I love these.
Smart casual trousers in this season’s colour ‘mocha mousse’ - Reiss.
I still really love a boucle jacket - this one from Mango is great with tailored trousers or with jeans
Love this jacket as a top - Me&Em
Another great example of smart/casual - mixing ‘straight’ items like this Me&Em checked jacket with edgier pieces to create an interesting outfit. Jeans linked here.
Love this papaya tulle skirt - another one to be dressed up or down. Blazer linked here
These butter yellow stripe wide trousers are in my basket - Never Fully Dressed
Buttermilk yellow is a colour for 2025 in fashion and I’m quite drawn to these jacquard trousers from &Other Stories. Would just wear with strappy flats or trainers and a tee shirt.
I get asked a lot what shoes to wear with outfits and trainers sometimes feel a bit dated these days. Flat shoes of every kind are having a huge moment - I’ve created a separate edit here with all the flat shoes I love for Spring!
Finishing off with a silver bag from Arket - this goes with everything and will sparkle in the Spring sunshine! Happy Spring.
